ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin arrived here on Tuesday to attend the twenty-third meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)
On arrival at the airport, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed the distinguished guest. Russian Ambassador in Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev, Additional Secretary Shafqat Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali and senior Russian diplomatic officials were also there to receive the Russian PM.
On this occasion, children dressed in traditional clothes presented bouquets to the distinguished guest.
The distinguished guest was given a red carpet welcome in perspective of the importance of the meeting and mutual relations between the two countries.
Words of goodwill were expressed between the two leaders. According to diplomatic sources, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk had already reached Islamabad.
A large delegation has come to Pakistan along with the Russian PM. The largest delegation for the SCO meeting is from Russia.
Diplomatic sources said that the Russian delegation has arrived in Pakistan in two parts, Russian journalists are also included in the delegation of the Russian PM.
